Lighthouse invites you to become involved and participate in our organization. Both direct-service and special event volunteers will discover a variety of stimulating opportunities conducive to personal growth, and the satisfaction that comes from making a difference.

Special Event Volunteers

Special event volunteers enjoy camaraderie
and fun, and they have a sense of purpose, knowing the fruits of their efforts will impact lives.  Special event volunteers serve on
the following:

• The Beacon of Light Humanitarian Awards Committee
  Each spring (1996-2008), the Beacon Committee has planned a gala to honor the accomplishments and service of Greater Cincinnati's outstanding citizens. The highlight of the evening has been the presentation of the Beacon of Lighthouse Humanitarian Awards to these distinguished honorees.
  
  For 2009, however, the dedicated, spirited Beacon Committee is moving in a different direction. The Committee is planning a big party in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Lighthouse Youth Services. This evening of fun and entertainment will take place April 25, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati.
  
  As in the past, Beacon Committee will plan the gala and commit time and energy to ensure its success. Subcommittees vary year to year, but typically they include: membership recruitment, auction, decorations, phoning/mailing, sponsorship, seating, and honoree recognition.

• Fall Event
  Held each autumn in a private home, this sold-out event celebrates the season with "Fun, Food, Flowers & Fashion!" This glamorous day features the finest of Cincinnati's cuisine and boutiques. Proceeds support important services and the Program Wish List.

• Happy Holidays
  Lighthouse strives to make holidays into happy days. Individually or as a group, the community participates in various ways--by adopting a youth or family, purchasing gifts from the Wish List, setting up a "giving tree" at church or work, making cash gifts, etc.
